Ok, I’ve realized after hearing this from multiple people that folks seem to think that the drunken shaman trainer Moondai is ‘the character you see yourself as right?”. I know it would make sense, here now that I think about it it’s perfectly logical that people would think that BUT truth is, the answer is a resounding:
NO! NO NOT AT ALL!!! A HUNDRED TIMES NO!
So listen up, here’s the deal: When I first started playing the game Moondai was my user name. I played my troll shaman on her pvp server for a while until my many friends on that server moved over to a normal server. In order to keep in touch we all agreed to keep the same user names on that server as well…and in the DN forum where two of us relocated. As Moondai was also my USER NAME (read it again, USER NAME) on DN as well as my fav game toon and first (one that is now retired) I kept that as a pen name once I started drawing this comic as a practical joke for a friend that got a little out of hand…
Once the plot expanded, Moondai the badly equipped shammy I don’t play got to join the cast since I already had that toon around and wanted to do something with her. I missed seeing that character in action and decided that even if she never got another moment of in game time, she’s still a good toy/doll to play with outside of the game.
SUMMARY: It’s a pen name; a user name, and now the toon attached to that user name is in the comic. SHE IS NOT ‘ME’!
If for some retarded reason I would ever do a self insert (not that anybody wants to read about a money hungry pixel pusher anyway) I’d be a goblin as I have a lot more in common with a short and angry little green person with a cash making agenda than a cougar of a troll. So hopefully everybody has gotten the point by now. I don’t do self inserts, I don’t do Mary Sues, or fucks sake I don’t right stories (or rps) in first or second person either so don’t ask. An author can’t help but let a little of themselves come through when writing characters, even it’s really slight. If you really must look at any character in that comic and insist on seeing the person drawing it, then pick the retarded newbs on page 2 of issue 4:

I’m a boring person who’s idea of ‘entertainment’ is watching Dirty Jobs while drawing retarded little comics. I’m not a trainer; I’m a pixel pusher who gets paid less than a walmart janitor. I’m not ‘a sexy cougar’; I’m an average woman who diets like a fiend and spends hours in the gym just to look reasonably ok according to my countries stupid standards? Do I wish I was a sexy trainer hero girl? NO! I’m happy being a normal boring person in a normal boring world who spends the weekends sleeping off my friday night sexathons before trudging to work on monday to do my job all week and repeat. I dont’ think of myself as her or any of my characters, never have and never will. It’s fucking creepy!

lol Australia gave albino possums their own name? And the alliteration of Moondai Metzer does give it a certain catchiness…

Golden/albino possums were called moondai because the aboriginies believed that they were sacred and children of the moon. They were an omen and typically weren’t killed if they could help it
So yeah, the aussie natives do have a special name for a white possum
But think of the poor normal possums that got eaten because they weren’t white, How racist! BTW Keep up the good work I love your art and can’t wait for more of the story of how Swan came to be, I wish I could donate but I’m way too poor at the moment, next time I get some spare cash I’ll send some your way. >_<
